Benjamin Weil is a multi-media, multi-disciplinary artist based in Chicago, IL. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, he grew up playing music and learning skills from everything like music production to blacksmithing, but found a love for sculpture, performance, and installations when studying at the University of Minnesota. During his years spent in the Twin Cities, Ben participated in HECUA's Art for Social Change program in 2017. This experience excelled his confidence and body of work as an artist. The program spurred a love and interest in public, community driven art that has a larger purpose than being producing work in/for a gallery. Since then he has been learning metal craft and sculpture with the hopes of continuing to spread art through the public eye. Currently he works in the Chicago fabrication industry.
